Theatre Holiday Magic Continues

It started with the Warren Miller ski movie on Thanksgiving weekend, followed by the Wizards of Winter on Wednesday 5th (what a show!) Next came the movie The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and of course, the traditional annual favorite Range Band concert after the Jack Frost Parade, complete with complimentary cookies, hot cocoa and cider – a great way to warm up after the parade and gather as a community to enjoy a selection of carols and other Christmas favorites. High school bands and choirs follow and our season wrapped up with the Frank Capra produced and directed 1946 holiday classic movie It’s a Wonderful Life, starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, and Lionel Barrymore. Approximately 150 people showed up on Saturday night 20 December to view the perennial holiday classic, including a large contingent of folk associated with Our Lady of Peace church.  Apparently Pope Leo recently named It’s a Wonderful Life as one of his four favorite movies of all time.  From the crowd reaction and comments as people were leaving the theatre, it seemed the pontiff’s assessment was shared by many! And thanks to Wakefield’s Winter Wonderlights for sponsoring the movie.

Ironwood and the Ironwood Theatre – It’s a Wonderful place to spend December.
