Attracted by the competent, hard-working team that has brought the HIT into its new era of prosperity, she rejoined the board in 2021, initially as Treasurer and now serves as Board President. Jackie holds an MA from the University of Chicago. Her work experience includes social work direct service and administration, tax preparation, and property management. MarkS-G

Mark Silver Grachek

Tech Nerd

Mark was transplanted into the U.P. in February of 1974 as a radio DJ for the #1 station in Ironwood, WJMS.  Soon after his arrival, he was invited to a Halloween escapade involving an old coffin marched to the theatre through downtown by a somber bunch, lead by theatre impresario, the late Alex Marciniak.  Details are sketchy but a love for all things Theatre was kindled that night and apparently, the fire still burns.  Mark served on the Theatre board for many years, including two years as board chair. He often comments that he feels blessed to be a part of the theatre community.

Says Mark: "It is amazing to stand on the stage and consider the many feet that walked there over the years.  Empty or full, I love the place.  I’ve MC’d everything from Warren Miller movies to a funeral.  I’ve sung and danced on stage, but my real love is working with the rest of the tech nerds to bring you the best possible sound and lights."
