Plaidurday Live Music by Old Pine Road moved to HIT

Due to the inclement weather, the Plaidurday performance by Old Pine Road, scheduled for the City Square stage on Friday 6 October was moved indoors to the Historic Ironwood Theatre. Given the drop in temperatures from earlier in the week, band members were very happy to be playing indoors! The wonderful group of musicians from Rhinelander WI, presented a crowd-pleasing blend of soulful funk-grass with a little jam-band experimentation, that had the crowd tapping their toes and highly entertained! Many people who were in town for the Plaidurday photo op outside the theatre at 6p, came into the theatre for the music and stayed for the movie Champions after the concert. The movie was sponsored by Gogebic Community College and particularly the men’s and women’s basketball teams, many of whom were in attendance. Also attending was GCC mascot, Sam the Samson who mingled with the enthusiastic crowd. It was a busy evening at the HIT – and it left all of us who work and volunteer here feeling very proud of the role we play in our community.
