The Pipers Were Hot, Hot, Hot!

We think it’s safe to say that every one who showed up on Tuesday March 25 for the concert by Scotland’s Red Hot Chilli Pipers had a wonderful time. Our regular patrons were joined by many first time theatre-goers to experience the Pipers’ special brand of “BagRock”. It was a a fitting show with which to open after being closed for three months to complete our MI Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) funded rigging upgrade. At a cost of nearly $300,000, the project, which included installation of new stage rigging, drapes, and fire curtain, would not have been possible without the LEO grant. So thanks to LEO; thanks to a bunch of crazy Scotsmen who helped us re-open with a high energy, quality show; and thanks to you – our supporters who believe in what we do and show it every time you purchase a ticket and come to a show. With everyone’s support and participation, HIT will continue to be an important part of the region’s social fabric – just it has been since it opened in 1928.
