Superior Shores Winds and Strings

Show Times:
Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 at 7.30pm
Cost:
Admission by Donation

Superior Shores Winds and Strings are a new ensemble featuring musicians from Hurley area to Ashland and Park Falls.  This is the first performance for the ensemble.  All the musicians are members of the Chequamegon Symphony Orchestra affiliated with Northland College.  The idea for bringing this group together came about after researching chamber music and finding really great repertoire for groups of many different sizes with a variety of instrumentation.  It’s always fun to bring musicians together to explore the vast amount of literature available, and the group has had wonderful time rehearsing and making music throughout the summer months.  Rehearsals began in May 2017, and the ensembles are looking forward to performing at the HIT on August 18. The ensemble will perform the Brahms Clarinet Quintet and Nonette by Louis Spohr.

The musicians have generously designated the theatre as the beneficiary of their performance - all donations received at the door will support ongoing theatre operations and presentation of other fine musical performances.
