Warren Miller's "Here There & Everywhere"

Show Dates:

Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016

Warren Miller's Here There and Everywhere It’s been 67 years since ski-film pioneer Warren Miller first picked up a camera to capture the wonder, adventure, humor, and beauty that is skiing. Since that time, Warren Miller film crews have traveled the globe -from storied slopes to hidden, snow-covered corners -to celebrate all things snowsports. Their quest has taken powder-hungry filmgoers, Here, There & Everywhere - and this year continues that legacy.

This fall, witness a freeform, freeski adventure in Warren Miller Entertainment’s 67th snowsports film, Here, There & Everywhere. See JT Holmes, Jeremy Jones, Grette Eliassen, Collin Collins, Ingrid Backstrom, Tyler Ceccanti, Wendy Fisher and more as they sweep across the expanses of Alaska, Montana’s Glacier Country, Deer Valley, Greenland, Switzerland and more in the pursuit of the perfect turns. This year, don’t miss Warren Miller himself spin tales of the past as only Warren can do, reminding us that through the years, these films have truly taken audiences Here, There & Everywhere.

This stop on the 2016 Warren Miller tour is promoted by the Snow Country Ski Club, formerly the Ironwood Ski Devils, our local High School Ski Racing Team. The club is no longer funded by the school system. Parents of racers, racers and volunteers fundraise to help keep local youth skiers active, engaged, and competitive on the racing circuit that covers Upper and Lower Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. The club is very proud of its long track record and deep history. The local skiing community is strong and many of these long time skiers are Ski Devil Alumni. There are many fond memories of the ski devil travelling team, its successes and championships and its former long term Michigan Hall of Fame coach, Theron Peterson.

The Snow Country Ski Club partnered with us at the Theatre and with Warren Miller to bring this premier movie to our ski town. This is one of the very important fund raisers that help cover travel expenses, lift tickets, equipment maintenance, coaching, and more. So buy some tickets and bring a few friends to the movie and get your Stoke for Winter! Winter is coming!

Doors and Kelly's Bar open at 6:30 pm (CST). Here, There & Everywhere screens at 7:30 (CST), but come early, hang out with your ski crowd and dig into the latest gear on display by our local sponsors.

NOTE TO THOSE TRAVELING FROM OUTSIDE OUR IMMEDIATE AREA: Even though we are in the UP, Ironwood is in the Central Time zone!

Regional High School Honors Band Concert

Show Dates:

Friday, Nov. 18, 2016

The finest young musicians from eight (8) area high schools will perform a concert on the Ironwood Theatre stage. These young and talented musicians will once again treat audiences to the excellent performances we have come to expect from this annual event.

This year's guest conductor is Dr. Stephen Grugin, Director of Bands at Northern Michigan University. Grugin's duties include directing the NMU's Pride of the North Marching Band, the NMU Pep Band, and the Northern Michigan University Symphonic Band. He also teaches music history and literature, applied low brass, and low brass methods for instrumental music educators.

Professor Grugin will work with the young players throughout the day as they further develop their skills, hear a little about what it might be like to be part of a college music program, and learn the pieces they will play in the evening concert . Grugin will direct their 7:00pm concert - to which the public is cordially invited!

Tickets at just $5 and are available at the door.

Please note: On-line ticket sales NOT available for this event - tickets only available at the door.

Jessica “Jess” Meuse  is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Slapout, Alabama who began performing in public at age 10.  Music has always been part of Jessica’s life and she plays several instruments - she is classically trained on violin, and self-taught at guitar and piano.

Meuse states she is, "influenced by virtually every genre of music." though she calls her style "a blend of southern rock with alternative and rock n’ roll."  Her music was once described  "rock...infused with country and metal."   Her musical influences include Coldplay, Miranda Lambert, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Stevie Nicks, Death Cab for Cutie, Bruno Mars, and Shinedown.

When Jess was 20, she won the state-wide artist showcase, Stars of Alabama. In 2013, she took first place in a local singer/songwriter competition at the Workplay Theater in Birmingham, Alabama. Since then she has opened for both national and local acts across the southeast.  Jessica was a contestant on Season 3 of NBC’s The Voice in 2012, where she made it to the blind auditions. In summer 2013, she won a spot to perform a set at the Vans Warped Tour in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2013-2014, Jess competed on the national television series American Idol®, finishing in 4th place. She became the first person in the history of the show to perform an original song, “Blue-Eyed Lie,” during the finals. She went on to tour with the Idols LIVE Tour in summer 2014, visiting 40 different cities in the United States and Canada. Post American Idol®, Jessica released her first independent single, “Done”, recorded and mixed by a small production team based in Los Angeles. On January 1, 2016, she released her second independent single, “Rio Grande”. She plans to release an EP as soon as possible and tour the country once more.
