The Griffin Newsletter is an informative series that features articles and information about the Ironwood Theatre including upcoming events, restoration projects, featured contributors and other fun information. The newsletter is released seasonally with a Spring edition and Fall edition (with a few exceptions over the years).
The "Griffin" serves as the icon of the Ironwood Theatre, used for its underlying meaning and purpose. A mythical creature of Greek folklore, the Griffin is a creature described as having the body of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. The lion was traditionally know as the king of beasts and the eagle, the king of birds. This creature is commonly depicted standing guard for treasure and priceless possessions (which is why it was selected as the icon for the Ironwood Theatre).
