HIT Idol Winners Announced

 The winners of HIT Idol Season 5 were announced on Saturday November 7, 2015, prior to the concert by American Idol Season 10 finalist, James "JD" Durbin.  The two winners in the Youth category were Sara Dums and Liam Hogan; High school winners were Madeline Gabka and Ethan Puisto; Adult winners were Alyssa Schwabb and Veronica Weaver.

Dums, a student at Wakefield-Marenisco sang "Rotten to the Core" by Sofia Carson. Manitowish Waters resident and North Lakeland School student Liam Hogan was seleceted for his performance of Cold Play's "Living La Vida". 

In the High School category, Luther L Wright junior Ethan Puisto won for his version of the Sonic Youth arrangement of The Carpenter's "Superstar". Also winning in the high school section was Bessemer senior Madeline Gabka for her interpretation of Beth Rowley's "Nobody's Fault but Mine".

In the adult category,  NMU student Alyssa Schwabb won for her rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene", while GCC student Veronica Weaver won with her performance of Doris Day's "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps"
